All MSI motherboards with the Z370, H370, B360, H310 chipsets are fully compatible with Intel’s latest anniversary processor. For example, the Intel CPU “out often he box” can be used without the need for a BIOS update.
The recently unveiled anniversary processor Core i7-8086K was unveiled to mark the 40th anniversary of x86 architecture. The processor has six cores with a base frequency of 4.0 GHz. By means of Boost, the model even reaches the 5.0 GHz mark. Although all of these MSI motherboards are fully compatible with the new CPU without an update, the manufacturer offers additional BIOS versions to achieve maximum performance with each motherboard and ensure backward compatibility.
Current MSI motherboards with Z370, H370, B360 and H310 chipsets also have the so-called CORE BOOST technology. The combination of a high-quality layout and the optimized power design is intended to ensure a stable operation under a permanent CPU load. Thanks to an extended PWM and an optimized circuit design, high-end Core i7 processors should also be able to operate at their full speeds.
