Ultimate Ears expands its Blast and Megablast Bluetooth speakers with the ability to connect multiple models together. With the hitherto missing grouping function, the manufacturer eliminates one of our main criticisms in the test.
Powerful Bluetooth speaker with Alexa integration
The Bluetooth speakers Ultimate Ears Blast and Megablast are characterized by a good sound with long battery life, but the main feature of the two handy speakers is the Amazon Alexa integration. The two models differ in size and battery life, but are both protected by a rugged and waterproof housing. Thus, they are not only suitable for use in the modern smart home, but can also be safely used in the garden or park. You can read our detailed test on both models here.
From now on also with Grouping function
One of our Criticisms of the Test, however, was a missing Way to connect two Identical speakers, or even a Blast, to a Megablast. As a result, the Bluetooth boxes were not suitable for Multi-room setups, but could only sound one Room at a time. This Shortcoming now eliminates Manufacturer Ultimate Ears by means of a software update: Since 7 March, up to eight Blast/Megablast Series speakers can be connected to each other and set up in several Rooms. Alternatively, two Models can also be paired to a stereo setup.
