Privacy Policy

ITnewsh takes your privacy very seriously and the following privacy guide outlines our policies in regards to what information we collect from you, and how we use this information.

Information Collection

1.Information You Provide to Us

ITnewsh may collect and store any information voluntarily supplied to us. This may include, but not be limited to: E-mails, post comments, tip submissions, story submissions, search requests, contest and/or giveaway entries.

2.Automated Information Collection

Automated information is gathered about you anonymously via the use of “cookies”. Cookies are small files that are stored in your computer’s browser that helps the site determine your preferences and help to identify how many times your browser has been to our site in a given time period.

Information about your Internet connection speed is gathered every time you connect to ITnewsh to help the site determine how to best display the site to you. This also aids us in knowing what sort of Internet speeds our site should be optimized for during any redesigns.

Anonymous data is also collected on your visit that tells us what browser you are using, your general geographical location, operating system and so on which helps us better design the site for your browsing ease.

3.Third Party Ad Servers

We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Web Site. If so, a list of these ad serving companies will be available here. These companies may use information (generally, not including your name, address, e-mail address or telephone number) about your visits to this Web Site and to other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. These companies may employ cookies and clear GIFs to measure advertising effectiveness. Any information that these third parties collect via cookies and clear GIFs is generally not personally identifiable (unless, for example, you provide personally identifiable information to them through an ad or e-mail message). We encourage you to read these businesses’ privacy policies if you should have any concerns about how they will care for your personal information. If you would like more information about this practice and to know your choices about not having this information used by these companies, see the Network Advertising Initiative’s consumer website at http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.

4. comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

5.Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
